Geocache Description:

"The Cache from Outer Space" was placed during the summer of '08 at FARMERCON 90, which was a tribute to Peoria's own Grandmaster of Science Fiction, Philip José Farmer. Mr. Farmer wrote a novel which was published under the title of "Cache from Outer Space" in 1962.

In Memoriam: Philip José Farmer
Born 1/26/1918 Terre Haute Ind. Died 2/25/2009 Peoria Ill

The original cache container was an outer space-themed lunch box which was chocked full of toy aliens and indians at the time of placement (if you've read Farmer's book then you know why). It also contained some swag from FARMERCON 90 and a copy of the novel "Cache from Outer Space" for the first-to-find. This cache container was highly desirable and unfortunately was muggled after two years. Special thanks to Fuzzy B for replacing it with a more difficult to find micro container. Possible poison ivy in Lakeview park!
