Cache vás zavede ke kousku Holandska v České republice, na místo pěkného výhledu na městečko Chvalšiny a na veliký 7,5 hektarový holandský kemp.
Obec Chvalšiny byla založena na území královského újezdu v příhodném širokém údolí, kterým protéká Chvalšinský potok a které dodnes obklopují krásné lesy. Nad jejich obzorem shlížejí do krajiny ze tří stran pásma kopců a hor. Z východu je to zejména oblast Blanského lesa s nejvyšší horou Kleť (1 084 m n. m.), ze severozápadu Velký Plešný (1 065 m n. m.) a na jihozápadě hřebeny Břevniště.
První osídlenci sem přicházeli asi v polovine 13. století. Původně převážně české obyvatelstvo bylo vlivem dosidlování pod vlivem korunského kláštera časem spíše minoritní až do roku 1946 - 1947, kdy byli občané německé národnosti násilně z obce vystěhováni. Na jejich místo nastupující komunistický režim dosadil osídlence z jiných krajů republiky a ze zahraničí. Teprve po politických změnách počátkem 90. let 20. st. se začali do obce vracet i návštevníci hovořící jinými jazyky. V posledních letech městečko, díky místnímu kempu, zní vedle češtiny převážně holandštinou.
Významnou dominantou městečka je pozdně gotický farní kostel sv. Máří Magdaleny z let 1487 - 1507. Velká část kostela je dílem slavné rožmberské stavební huti a jejího stavitele Hanse Götzingera. Kostel byl v průběhu času běžně opravován, poslední velká přestavba proběhla počátkem 19. st. Kostelní loď má kombinovanou síťovou a hvězdicovou klenbu předhusitského typu, je ovšem ale z pozdější doby. Celý interiér činí na příchozího hluboký dojem a vzbuzuje v něm pocit radosti nad jeho krásou. Až na menší dobové úpravy se loď dochovala v původní podobě. Rozhodně doporučujeme jeho návštevu.
Holandský kemp se nachází v místech, kde mnozí obyvatelé Chvalšin a okolí pamatují kravín a areál JZD se vším, co k tomu patřilo. V současné době jsou maštale kravína bourány, ze seníku je společenská místnost a herna pro hosty, z budov JZD administrativní budovy kempu a z míst, kde se pásly krávy, výborně upravená plocha pro stany a karavany.
K dalším zajímavostem městečka patří například i to, že Chvalšiny jsou rodištem stavitele Schwarzenberského plavebního kanálu Ing. Josefa Rosenauera a také to, že se v Chvalšinách nachází nejstarší krokodýlí farma ve východní Evropě, krokodýli z této farmy jsou pak k videní v Protivínské Krokodýlí ZOO, které je věnována letterbox cache GC1CYHE.

POZOR! POZOR! POZOR! Cache je uložena na uzemí CHKO Blanský les, proto prosíme všechny hledače, aby se k okolí cache chovali šetrněji než kdy jindy, nerozrývali pařezy a kořeny stromů. Cache je umístěna na druhé strane kopečku, na východní straně cesty, v dutině za kameny - doporučujeme užít foto HINT. Na míste cache je 'logovací lavička' s výhledem na Chvalšiny a kemp. Kousíček od cache po vrstevnici na západ je pramínek s čistou vodou a po vrstevnici na východ kaplička s jiným výhledem, lavičkou a stolečkem. Viz waypointy.
Aby bylo uznáno FTF, tedy pro otevření cache, musí být u logovaní přítomen člověk holandské národnosti, jeho křestní jméno musí být uvedeno v elektronickém logu spolu s jeho fotografií s víčkem cache. Tento Holanďan musí podepsat FTF zápis v logbooku!

Deze cache brengt je naar een stukje Holland in Tsjechië. Bij de cache heb je een mooi uitzicht over het kleine stadje Chvalšiny en de Nederlandse camping.
Het stadje Chvalšiny is honderden jaren geleden gesticht op het grondgebied van een koninklijk domein in een aangename vallei waardoor de Chvalšiny beek stroomt. Nog steeds is het dorp omgeven door aangename bossen. Vanaf drie zijden is het gebied omsloten door majestueuze heuvels en bergen. In het oosten ligt het Blansky bosgebied met de Klet (1084 meter), in het noordwesten ligt de Velký Plešný (1065 m) en in het zuidwesten de keten van de Brevnište.
De eerste bewoners vestigden zich in de tweede helft van de 13e eeuw in dit gebied. In die tijd was het grootste deel van de bevolking van het plaatsje Tsjechisch. De germanisering van Chvalšiny vond veel later plaats, ongetwijfeld door de activiteiten van het Gouden Kroon klooster. De Duits sprekende bevolking was in de meerderheid tot 1946-1947, toen de bewoners met een Duitse nationaliteit gedwongen werden naar Duitsland te verhuizen. De vrijkomende woningen werden, alhoewel niet volledig, ingenomen door mensen uit andere delen van het land en uit het buitenland.
Pas na de omwenteling in het begin van de negentiger jaren van de 20e eeuw werd het buitenlanders toegestaan om het stadje te bezoeken. In de laatste paar jaar hoor je ook veel Nederlands spreken in het plaatsje, zeer waarschijnlijk door de grote Nederlandse camping in het noordelijk deel van de plaats.
Het stadje wordt gedomineerd door de Kerk van de heilige Maria Magdalena, die is gebouwd in laatgotische stijl in 1487-1507 op de plaats van een oudere kerk. Het interieur is indrukwekkend en je zult plezier hebben van een bezichtiging. Op enkele kleine aanpassingen na heeft het schip zijn originele verschijning behouden. We bevelen een bezichtiging aan, het is de moeite waard.
Camping Chvalšiny is een prettige camping onder Nederlandse leiding in Zuid-Bohemen. Hij is gesitueerd tussen Chvalšiny en de omliggende bossen op terrassen met mooie uitzichten.
Chvalšiny is de geboorteplaats van de bouwer van het Schwarzenberg Kanaal, Ing. Josef Rosenauer (house no. 118). Ook is de oudste krokodillenkwekerij van Oost-Europa in het plaatsje gevestigd. Het is niet mogelijk het bedrijf te bezoeken, maar de dieren kunnen worden bewonderd in Protivin Krokodillen ZOO, voor details zie de cache GC1CYHE.

This cache will lead you close a piece of Holand in Czech Republic. There is nice view of a little town Chvalšiny and nearby Holland camp.
The town Chvalšiny had been established hundreds of years ago in the territory of a royal domain in a favourable wide valley through which the Chvalšiny brook runs and which is still up to the present day surrounded by wonderful forests. There are majestic areas of hills and mountains looking down from three sides upon the countryside from the above horizon of the forests. From the East it is especially the Blanský forest region with its highest mountain KleB (1084 m above sea level), from the north-west Velký Plešný (1065 m) and from the south-west the chain of the Brevnište and its hills. The first settlers had come to this locality approximately in the second half of the 13th century. The original town population at that time was mostly of Czech origin. The germanising of Chvalšiny only appeared much later and undoubtedly through the activities of the Golden Crown monastery which had been adopting into its territory, with pleasure, particularly the population coming from German areas. The German speaking population was then majority in area till 1946-1947, when the people of German nationality were transferred from the town to Germany and the vacated places were settled, even if not to full extent, by new settlers coming from both other regions of the country and abroad. The town started new era of life not until the polical changes in the beggining of nineties of 20th centry, when was allowed to enter the town for visitors from abrouad. In last few years you can here not only Czech in the town but very probably you'll hear a lot of Dutch, because of the big Holland camp on the north part of the town.
The dominant feature of the town is Church of the Holy Mary Magdalena build in late gothic style in 1487-1507 on the site of an older church. The whole interior is very impressive and when you enter the church you will feel joy originating from its beauty. With the exceptions of small ordinary modifications at various times the nave has kept its original appearance. We recommend visit the church, it is worth of it.
Camping Chvalšiny is a pleasant campsite for families under Dutch management in South Bohemia. It is situated between the village of Chvalšiny and the surrounding woods on terraced grounds with fine views.
Chvalšiny is the birthplace of the builder of the Schwarzenberg Navigational Canal, Ing. Josef Rosenauer (house no. 118). There is also the oldest crocodile farm in Eastern Europe in the town. It is not possible to visit the farm directly here, but the crocodiles from this farm are shown in Protivin Crocodile ZOO, for details see the cache GC1CYHE.

WARNING! The cache is placed in a protected area Blanský Forest, therefore we kindly ask you to behave very sensitively to surrounding nature. The cache is NOT located in a stump and/or next the grown tree roots - it is placed on the eastern side of the mound on the eastern side of the path in a hole behind a rock - we ask you to use the fotoHINT. At the area of the cache there is nice bench for logging, with the view of the town and camp. Few hundreds meter from the cache is a spring with drinking water. East of the cache location is a little chapel. See waypoints for exact location.
The FTF log will be valid, and the cache will be open, only when there will be present someone from Holland during the log, the person should sign the FTF logbook entry, and a picture of this person together with a lid of a cache and also given name of this person should be attached to the electronic log at geocaching.com!
