Geocache Description:

The SQ in the cache name above signifies Spirit Quest, a project to distinguish those caches that are set in cemeteries or memorial gardens. This is a good distinction to put on this type of cache and is a good idea to be used here in Michigan. Please be respectful of the area, and observe their rules and posted hours, Michigan law states that you are only permitted to visit cemeteries dawn to dusk through out the state unless other hours are posted.

The cache is not at the posted co-ords, will have to work out the co-ords from the text below. What you will find at the posted co-ords is the grave of Robert W. Derminer better known as Robin “Rob” Tyner the lead man of the MC5 (Motor City 5).

The puzzle here should be an easy once you have looked up the history of Rob Tyner and the MC5. Simply find the answers and fill in the blanks then count the letters in that word, or use the missing number to get to the final which is a rectangular lock-n-lock.

Born Robert Derminer, Rob Tyner was born on December 12, 1944 and lived a short 48 years dying September 18, 1991. He was born, raised and died here in the Detroit area, in fact spent much of his life near and on the Woodward corridor. Rob along with Wayne Kramer created the band they were both most famous for, the MC5. Though music is what Rob Tyner is known for most that knew him would tell you he was a family man before all else. He and his wife had _ children, Robin Jr, Amy and Elizabeth. Rob died at 48 from a heart attack as he was returning home from a store after picking up goods for his family.

The MC5 was a cutting edge band that played from 19_4 through 1972. Robin once described the as. "We were Punk before there was Punk. We were New Wave before there was New Wave. We were Metal before there was Metal, and we were MC before there was Hammer. We were either the electric, mechanical climax of the age, or we were some sort of cruel, counter-culture hoax. We were Killer, Righteous; high energy dudes who could pitch the whang-dang doodle all night long." The band consisted of Tyner - vocals, Wayne Kramer – guitar, Fred “___” Smith – guitar, Michael ___ – bass guitar, Dennis “___ ___” Thompson – drums. The band landed themselves on the cover of the Rolling Stone in 196_ after have a big hit with their biggest hit, “Kick Out The Jams”. This song also landed Tyner in jail for 1 one the versions of this song after singing it with the “bad” words being sung, time were different back then! The band started to disband in 1972 after kicking Michael ___ out of the band because of his heroin addiction. Drugs also played into a _ year prison term for Wayne Kramer a few years later. As for Tyner he never gave into drugs and kept focused on his family through the Rock and Roll years and there after. Like Robin, Fred “___” Smith died young of natural causes. Fred was married to Patti Smith, who in herself, made it big in Rock and Roll, he died in 199_.

Robin Tyner was a devout Catholic. His life long religious guild was the Rev. Rod Reinhart. The Rev. Rod Reinhart married the Tyner’s and also proceeded over Rob’s funeral, here is an excerpt from his eulogy. Robin was an amazing man. Because of his own strength, and the love of his family and friends, he never burned himself out on booze, hard living, violence or drugs. He devoted himself to being the best husband and father he could be. He loved his children Robin Jr., Amy and Elizabeth. He was very connected and concerned with his parents, Jacqueline and William, and with his brothers, Richard and David. He also maintained close ties with his many friends in the music business and with close friends around Detroit.
