English description
While digging a way for the road TF-24, the workers cut through many volcanic layers, which are now called "La Tarta" ("the cake") Each one of the layers originates from a different eruption and was deposited over a period of days and weeks. Centuries or even millenia may have elapsed between the deposition of each layer.
The white layer, made up of pumice fragments, is very light and porous. It was originated from a volcano situated in Las Canadas. During the very violent Plinian type eruption, pumice fragments were hurled to a great height and carried here by the wind.
The black layers, which are composed of basalt, emerged during eruptions with a low gas content.
The reddish layers are also composed of basalt. However, at the time they were formed, they were oxidised by the ground water that had filtered into the conduit and vaporated.
The dark layers were emitted by nearby volcanic cones. Their Strombolian type eruptions were less violent and the materials were not expelled to such great height.
To log this cache as a found, you must
- upload a picture of you or your GPSr at that place proving you had been physically there (re-allowed by GC since June 2019), and
- upload a selfmade coloured drawing of La Tarta.
Logs without the required upload will be deleted without comment.

"La Tarta" es una incision per las capas volcanicos, que fueron liberado a las obras de construccion de autorouta TF-24. Cada una de las capas corresponde a una eruption diferente, depositandose en dias o semanas. Entre capa y capa han podido transcurrir siglos o milenios.
La capa blanca, formada por fragmentos de pomez, es muy porosa y ligera. La capa blanca proviene de un volcan situado en Las Canadas. Su eruption, muy violenta, de tipo pliniano, arroja fragmentos de pomez a gram altura, que fueron arrastrados por el viento hasta aqui.
Las capas negras, formadas por picon basaltico, surgen en eruptiones con bajo contenido en gas.
Las capas rojizas, tambien de picon basaltico, son oxidadas en el momento de su formation por agua subterranea que entra en el conducto eruptivo y se vaporiza.
Las capas oscuras fueron emitadas por conos volcanicos carcanos. Sus eruptiones, de tipo estromboliano, fueron menos violentas, alcanzando una altura mucho menor.

Während der Bauarbeiten für die Straße TF-24 legten die Arbeiter jede Menge vulkanische Schichten frei, die heute "La Tarta" (die Torte) genannt werden. Jede dieser Schichten entstand bei einem anderen Ausbruch, welche sich über Tage oder Wochen hinziehen konnten. Jahrhunderte, vielleicht sogar Jahrtausende können zwischen den einzelnen Eruptionen, die die Schichten verursacht haben, verstrichen sein.
Die weiße Schicht aus Bimsfragmenten ist sehr hell und porös. Sie stammt vom Ausbruch eines Vulkans in den Canadas. Während der sehr heftigen Eruption (plinianischer Typ) wurden die Bimsfragmente hoch in die Luft geschleudert und mit dem Wind hierher verfrachtet.
Die schwarzen Schichten bestehen aus Basalt, welcher aus Eruptionen mit niedrigen Gasgehalt entstammt.
Die rötlichen Schichten bestehen auch aus Basalt. Zum Zeitpunkt ihres Entstehens wurden sie durch Grundwasser oxydiert, welches in den Eruptionsgang eindrang und verdunstete.
Die dunklen Schichten entstammen von nahen Vulkankegeln. Diese Ausbrüche vom Stromboli-Typ waren weniger gewaltig und das Material wurde nicht so hoch geschleudert.
Um diesen Cache als "found" loggen zu dürfen, musst du
- ein Foto von dir oder deinem GPS hochladen, welches beweist, dass du persönlich vor Ort gewesen bist (wiedererlaubt von GC seit Juni 2019), und
- selbst eine bunte Zeichnung von La Tarta anfertigen, die du deinem Log zufügst.
