Mahogany Mountain Traditional Cache

A High Mountain Cache on one of the most picturesque peaks in Utah County.
This cache in located near the summit of the most northern sub peak of Mount Timpanogos. It can be accessed by an eight mile hike from Grove Creek Canyon in Pleasant Grove or by a two mile hike from Timpanookee Trail (4x4 highly recommended). The views from this peak are amazing! The best parking location and access to the trail to the cache is at 40º 25.298N 111º 41.987W There are several other routes shown on topographical maps to this cache but having hiked it several times I have yet to find a better route than from these coordinates. Follow the trail west toward the summits. The trail will take you to a saddle from which you head south along the ridges until you reach the summit of Mahogany Mountain. The cache is on the west face of the mountain and should be clear of snow early in the spring. Please re-hide the cache the same way you found it. There is an unactivated travel item for the first to find.
