Having recently got a little carried away in Ralf's land our
total cache hide count has now gone over the 100 mark. So, we
thought a special cache was appropriate and we just happened to
know of a handy spot!
We like people finding our caches so we try and give plenty of
helpful info (too much at times perhaps!) so to be a bit different
this cache description is very brief. A spoiler photo and the
co-ordinates are about all you're going to get. One or two other
hints are about on the page if you spot them.
We will, as usual, wax lyrical about the area! The land around
Rather Heath does seem to have all the elements of a beautiful
place: gently rolling hillocks, amazing views on a clear day,
beautiful trees and cottages, with endless path and walking
options. This cache takes you along some fine paths, through the
garden of one of the most beautiful cottages in the area, and to a
marvelous view point. Please try and visit on a good day (if you
can find one!).
There are not any good places to park on the Crook Road near the
south end of the path, so the best bet is to come from the north on
Rather Heath lane. Lots of walk options but a great extension is to
continue onto Cunswick Scar up a gentle path through the trees -
excellent.
Additional Logging Request: 100+ cache hides is a
reasonable body of work, we think, and it's been great reading the
interesting logs of fellow cachers' visits. What we would like you
to do in your log here is to nominate which of our caches has been
your favourite to date, with a brief explanation of why. If this is
your first martlakes team cache, then feel free to say how much you
enjoyed this one! (or go and find a few others first!)
Yes, you're right, this is just a shameless way of looking for
compliments!! But from previous logs we think some people have
enjoyed at least one or two of our caches!
We hope you enjoy this cache and we look forward to hearing
which of our caches is your favourite. There's a fair few to choose
from now, and you can include any archived ones. Hopefully, it will
also make interesting reading for others to see what different
people like best. We also wondered who had found the most of our
caches, so perhaps you could tot up how many you've done.
Happy caching!
