Haunted Hotel Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Whiskey Bravo: After a long translated conversation with the society that owns this cache, They decided that any further visits to this site is not welcomed. They are not mad, they are not upset. They believe that the spirits are to stay in the location. They do not want any thing taken or brought to this location. Again, they are not mad nor are they upset. They just want it left alone.
I will rebuild a cache next to it, in order to support a "redoux" of the cache.
thanks for all who cache and enjoyed the location.

Geocache Description:

This is hidden at what is concidered to be a haunted hotel. I included 2 stories below about the site. The way in can be difficult to find, but there are several ways (We took a path through the woods a local man pointed out for us).

One of the most often told stories, and most often confused stories when told, is that of the haunted mansion which was built in the early 70s. The mansion sits near the Nakagusuku Castle Ruins, off of Route 329. Stories have been spread of tourists being murdered and other hotel guests drowning in the pool. The hotel, in fact, was never opened to the public, never even finished. Inside, stairs lead to nowhere, and what was once meant to be a luxury hotel was a fiasco. The hotel was built on ground said to be sacred, but the developer, an Okinawan businessman, failed to listen to the local villagers. Instead, he went ahead with his plans...or lack thereof, as the place was built without the use of blueprints. Soon into the building, several construction accidents claimed the lives of those working on the hotel. Workers began to fear going to the site, and soon everything was abandoned. The businessman went bankrupt not long after the hotel idea failed, and now resides in an insane asylum. A monk lives in the ruins where he has built a small altar to help the spirits rest. The Royal Hotel is said to have been deserted mid-construction around 30 years ago due to the eerie deaths of constructions workers and other unnameable unearthly events. The wealthy builder of this hotel is said to have invested a large amount of money, yet with little consideration of the people who constantly warned him of building on consecrated ground and in such close proximity to tombs of the dead.
This obstinate refusal led to grave consequence, the death of his son, bankruptcy and insanity that ended with his death.
The unplanned sprawling construction appears more like a collection of buildings haphazardly connected to each other. Devil stars on the roof and graffiti on the walls accompanied by disturbing human artifacts: tatami mats, beds, mattress, charred wood and even the rusted frame of a car, can be found within.
The heavy contrast between the ruins of a castle built 700 hundred years ago and the ruins of this modern building side by side makes the place even more haunting. While one is being restructured to its former glory, the other has been left abandoned to the ravages of time, nature and man.

I raised the rating due to the difficulty to find a way in and you must be careful around the area. The hotel is decaying and there is a lot of trash in the area. The hotel was never finished and can be dangerous for little ones, we took our boys and were just watchful during the day.

There are several ways in other than the castle. These coordinates are where we parked. The trail leads up from the sign saying the road is a deadend. Have fun exploring!

Congrats to Bobby_MD for FTF!
