Geocache Description:

This cache is located in the tallest mountain of Cyclades. Mountain Zas (Zeus) summit with altitude of 1004m in Naxos island. This is a cache for those that like hiking as this is the only way to approach the cache area. The route to the Zas summit is one of the most known of Naxos island and you will find it in many tourist guides.
Reaching the summit you are rewarded with views over almost the whole of Naxos island along with Donoussa, Amorgos, Koufounissi, Schinoussa, Iraklia, Ios & Paros in a 360-degree panoramic view. Take a look to the posted photos.
If you decide to search for this cache it's better to start hike early in the morning before the sun comes up, have with you water, long pants, hat, closed shoes and be prepared for almost 2 hours of hiking for arrive to the top. We propose you to take the path that start from Ag.Marina, a small church in the road from Filoti to Danakos where you will find also a sign that indicates the route to Za's summit. Is less difficult from the other that pass from Za's Cave and start from Arion Spring.
On the top you will find a pile with a metalic box attached to it with a logbook for the visitors of the summit.
The cache consists of a big plastic tupperware box and you can see the items that initially contains in the photo. The FTF award and a nice pin is a gift for the first finder of the cache.
Have fun.
