Geocache Description:

Perfect for quick drive to cache

I have done this cache to help me gain my Chief Scouts bronze award.
Derwent valley scout group have been at their present H/Q for the last 33 years. The hut was brought down from the radio staition and was re-erected by the parents. With alot of fund raising an extension was added to house the kitchen, toilets and leaders room. The building was found to be unsafe 8 years ago due to blue asbestos and £37.000 had to be raised to make it safe again.
Derwent valley are one of the few groups who own their own head quarters in the district and the only group who have the outside space to hold camps on the premises.
