Geocache Description:

The cache is an ammo can. If you find the jars on top, those are summit logs put there by hikers. Sign those as well if you wish, but the cache is the ammo can.

There are many loose rocks and places where it was hard to find good footing. I was glad I had my hiking staff to steady myself. As usual, take lots of water, and watch for the normal desert hazards. Don’t fall off the edge retrieving the cache

I remember this being an easier hike, but then again the last time I was on top was twenty years ago or so. The views are fantastic from the top. If you look to the Southeast, you can even have a great view of the “Castle” on top of another hill. To the East is The Colossal Cave Complex. I found sign of deer and javalina, and saw a covey of quail. On the hike out, I think I saw tracks left by a fuzzy bear but they were headed in the opposite direction so I didn’t pay much attention to them.

There is a marker disk in concrete located were the tower used to be. It is labeled “Pima County Mon No 3”.

Congratulations to RS Arizona for the FTF.
