Geocache Description:

This Geocache is made up of a small water tight container well hidden in a larger container and is located off the carding Machine Road in Richmond Maine which is located off Rt. 197 about 1 1/4 miles west of the town. Once you are on the Carding Machine Road, go until the pavement ends and the dirt road starts and then start watching on your left for a LARGE GREEN iron gate, this is at the trail head and there is ample parking there beside the road, the trail head Coordinates are ( N 44" 04.353 by W 069" 49.867). Once around the gate and on the trail follow it up into a partially grown over field, you will come to an area where there is no ground cover only bare ledge, stand on the ledge with your back to the road and look to your left at an approx. 10:30 O'clock angle and you will see an opening in the tree canopy, this is the beginning of an old woods road and the next part of the trail (your G.P.S. will probably point in a different direction and it will be right but if you follow it will require bushwhacking) so follow the woods Rd. trail to the Abagadasset stream (Which is the headwater of the Abagadasset River) and enjoy the water falls and on your way check out the two beaver Dams and you may also see some Beavers doing what Beavers do best! Once you arrive at the base of the falls, your G.P.S. should lead you to the cache which is not very far away. We Didn't have too many satellites while in the woods below the falls but as we moved around we found plenty and at the actual cache site we had plenty for a good fix on the location.
This property is in two parcels, the property where the cache is located is owned by the State Of Maine and managed by The State Department Of Fish And Wildlife, most of the property that the trail is on is owned by private individuals, we have permission to use both of them for the Purpose Of Geocaching So PLEASE REMEMBER that to be on these properties is a PRIVILEGE and NOT A RIGHT , PLEASE do not destroy anything or leave trash laying around! We had allot of fun creating and hiding this cache and we hope you thoroughly enjoy your experience trying to find it, (If You Can!)
There is an Abundance of ticks in the area and a few raspberry bushes in the trail so be careful of the thorns and put on PLENTY of Tick Repellent and thoroughly check yourself for tics when you come out!
