Parking is available at 50 58 490 000 59 270 though there is a small charge. Part of a triplet, also containing Ol’ Butser Hill – Peaceful Valley, and a bonus cache, Ol’ Butser Hill – Soaring Slopes.
Coordinates for Soaring Slopes are contained in Windy Ridge and Peaceful Valley. Butser Hill is one of the 179 Marilyns in England, meaning that it has a relative height of at least 150 metres (492 ft). Butser Hill itself is 270 m (886 ft) high, and gives outstanding views of the South Downs and the Solent. The Ol’ Butser triplet can all be reached from the main car park, but are best appreciated as a circular walk starting with Windy Ridge. There is a short section of road on the circular walk, which is easily negotiated with care. Use Ordnance Survey Explorer map 120. The name for this cache came from the slope soarers who soar the slopes above. Whether Hang Gliders, remote controlled aircraft or just kites, there always seems to be something going on.
