Geocache Description:

Part of sportsmanship is a full commitment to participation. Team Shrike’s sparse list of recent geocaching finds might give the opposite impression about us.

Our recent adventures have replaced the thought of equity in a context of sportsmanship with thoughts about the sort of equity tied to things like finances, employment -- especially the lack or changing thereof -- and home ownership and maintenance. (Ugh!) When John Wilkes Booth referred to “the debt that all men pay”, I'd say he had somehow mixed up the two foremost certainties in life. (By all accounts, however, he was preoccupied by the one he emphasized at the time …)

<Ahem> But we digress … we somehow need to build a little equity with all of you by assuring you we’re still very committed to the sport of geocaching. By now, many of you know one of our proven methods for that … a puzzle cache! Only homework will gain you this find -- the given coordinates are only approximate.

Like some of the others, this puzzle might make you think that the kind of commitment we mean has more to do with strait jackets than sportsmanship. Nope – this is solely about play fair! As usual, with any of our caches, all participants have an equitable sporting chance to pursue victory. (And we have an equitable sporting chance of promoting your commitment! For those that find this cache, that means commitment to geocaching. For those that try to but fail, I suppose it could involve a strait jacket … but luckily, liability in a sport composed of voluntary participants is practically non-existent. Right? Right? Anyone? Anyone at all?)
