Historical marker
This cache is located in what was the front yard of the Mt. Tomer school which was probably established in the 1890's. The Marshal's School Census of 1920 - 21 lists 50 children in this school district. It was consolidated in 1945 with Moscow.
Two Indian trails joined at this site, the Nez Perce Trail and the Red Wolf Trail (later named the Stevens Trail). These trails were used by the Nez Perce, Coeur d'Alenes and other Indian tribes.
Please respect the ajoining private properties and do not block their driveways.
