Near the Sun Inn, Bassenthwaite. Can be incorporated in walks or bike rides around Bassenthwaite, or simply during a visit to the pub or swings by the stream.
This is an ammo box easily accessible and a short distance from the road and footpaths. The Sun Inn is nearby which does great food and drink (booking is essential for evening meals) and there are swings by the stream which is shallow enough for a paddle. This location can be built into many walks around Bassenthwaite of the gentlest nature down to the lake, or even the staring point for Skiddaw for the more adventurous. The roads and tracks around here are also ideal for bike rides, or you can simply park up at the pub and enjoy the village.
When first planted the cache contained the following: Dinosaur Puzzle, Football Medal, Mechanical Pencils, Space Blanket, Pirate Badge, Football Badge, Beads, Bracelet, Painted Stone, Hot Wheels Car and a Dr Who Travel Bug.
Perhaps the next visitor could negotiate a coupon redeemable at the Sun for a glass of Cumberland Ale?
