Buchanan Cache is placed below a small wayside rest with an
interesting history, one I wasnt aware of until today when I read a
large plague that tells about the short history of this early town.
It reads in part that this is a former site of an early town in
the late 1800's, named after a former President of the United
States.
The location was the seat of the U.S. Land Office for North
Eastern District of Minnesota.
