Another priceless treasure of the north state--this little lake has a view to write home about. . .and the trip in is a bit of an adventure, too!
I took the quads in with the illustrious Mr. Kokopeli, but the trail probably could be cleared back out for a jeep or something similarly sized. It's narrow and there are several blowdowns blocking the trail right now, so if you have your own trail-beast equipped with a clearing implement, feel free to clear it out some, but don't complain if you pick up a few scratches! Even pictures can't begin to come close to explaining the beauty, but this is a true four-wheel drive trip. . .don't take the family sedan. . .I wouldn't even take the family SUV, even though I've taken it some pretty challenging (my wife says stupid!) places. We totaled about 12 miles one way on the quads, but hiked enough to make it an all-day adventure. (Thus, I remind you, wear sunscreen and a hat!!) This is one of those trips that make you wonder why you ever leave the North State for a vacation. . .and dream about upgrading that Jeep even more. Contents of the ammo box are mostly kids' stuff, just in case you drag along anyone who isn't quite thrilled enough by just the view. The FTF pin, however, is the creative work of Mrs. Kokopeli, and the first of its kind. . .
