Geocache Description:


Haines has always been one of the best places to view bald eagles. Some years back a viewing platform was built at the Chilkat Eagle Preserve about 25 miles out of Haines towards the Canadian border. Each winter the eagles bring many visitors from far and wide to view and photograph the birds. It's pretty amazing for those who have never seen a bald eagle. For those of us who lived here, it was merely part of life.

This cache was meant to bring people out to enjoy such a beautiful setting where they may not otherwise go.
