4 Stars Traditional Cache

This is a 4 star cache at a 5 star view. You will find yourself perched high above Castle Creek in the Grey Rocks at an unforgettable vista.
We placed this metal box while on an adventure with the Desert(B)Rats. After some research we found the access to the Grey Rocks via a road from the Tamarack Lake area. The jeep track is rocky, narrow, and occasionally brushy. We enjoyed a quad ride immensely and this would be a fine ALL day hike from the end of the 2wd access. Bicyclists may not enjoy the terrain.
Quite simply this may be the prettiest jeep trail in Northern California. We spent hours exploring and will return for more. Watch for a left turn before Tamarack Lake and follow the road to the summit. Descend, and at a threeway intersection choose the middle option. This bypasses a beautiful meadow and leads to the caches here. A saw may be handy for some vehicles depending on a season's windfall trees.
Continue on the road to the saddle and start walking to the cache. Tree cover may interfere at the cache site. FTF pin awaits.
