This is a traditional cache, but the cache is not the treasure - the location is!! To get to this cache means you experience the grandeur of the Baviaanskloof and the Makkedaat caves, specifically Dassiebak. load the 4x4 and spend a few days in the area and experience true African splendour.
You will probably need to book accommodation on the farm Rietfontein or request permission from the owners (contact Henriette on +27(0)44-923-1921) to find this cache. If you approach the Baviaanskloof from Patensie you will need a 4x4, but a sedan will get you there from Willowmore. The cache contains the usual stuff and is in a blue lunch box on the slopes above the cave. Please don't overturn every single rock to find the cache - it is obvious once you've made the haul to get there. Be careful, the slope is loose and rocky and full of thorn bushes.
