Geocache Description:

Collins Lane Tollgate House Purton.

This is a simple offset Nano Cache that could be done as a Cache and dash. There is a very short distance between the first clue waypoint and the final Cache location and there is ample parking to be found at the Village Hall Carpark.

On the Sign hanging on the Tollgate house wall is clue to the final Cache location.

This was known as “Collins Lane Tollgate” and collected tolls from the traffic that passed to pay for the upkeep of the road. It was one of three Tollgates that covered all directions through Purton. Please see the link below for an interesting bit of history about the Tollgate and a particular Toll Collector of the early 1800s that was found in some letters that were discovered in a sealed up chimney breast.
(visit link)

On the Tollgate sign are prices for different tolls for different methods of transport.

A= How many times the word “Goats” appears on the sign
B= How many times the word “Wheels” appears on the sign ( That does not include the word "wheel"-it must be the plural)

The Final Nano Cache location is at:

N 5A B5.BBA W 00A 5A.977

Please remember this is a NANOCACHE. It is so small it contains only a tiny rolled up log that you can leave only your initials on. So remember your pen as it is far too small to contain one! I have tried to make it look like part of the surroundings, hence some of the difficulty level of this Cache.
Please be carefull to use an element of stealth as this is a Muggle crowded area with a lot of Muggle traffic around, which also contributes to the difficulty of this cache.

When you replace the log be sure you have screwed the cap on but not so tight the next cacher will struggle, it is designed to have a small tag of paper sticking out from the roll so that it can be removed from the tiny capsule once unscrewed.

If you find you come away frustrated please email me through the site and tell me what “Belliss and Morcom Ltd” patented and I will happily send you more clues.
