Dieser Rundweg führt euch durch die Gegend um Haar und an der Ausgrabungsstätte „Bienstube“ vorbei, wo auch der Cache versteckt ist.
Der Parkplatz N49°46.893 E011°46.240 ist von der Landstraße bei N49°46.939 E011°46.451 zu erreichen. Biegt dort ab und folgt mit eurem Fahrzeug dem Waldweg, er führt in den Parkplatz, den man von der Straße aus nicht sehen kann.
Dort beginnt ihr den Rundweg über den äußerst rechten „steilen“ Weg (entspricht Parkplatzkoordinate). Folgt dem Weg, bis ihr den Wald verlasst und geht an der kleinen Ortschaft „Haar“ links vorbei. Folgt der Teerstraße, bis sie in einen Feldweg übergeht, und wandert an diesem weiter, bis halbrechts ein breiter Waldweg auftaucht, der euch in ein Tal führt. Diesem Waldweg folgt ihr und zweigt dann nirgendwo weiter ab, bis ihr an N49°46.868 E011°43.913 das Hinweisschild „Ausgrabungsstätte Bienstube“ seht. Dort müsst ihr euch dann ein wenig selbst orientieren, was aber sicher kein Problem sein wird.
Nachdem ihr den Cache bei N49°46.948 E011°43.925 (100 Messungen gemittelt mit Garmin 60CSx) gefunden habt, kommt ihr wieder nach oben und geht den Rundweg weiter entlang. Langsam aber stetig krümmt er sich nach links in Richtung Ausgangspunkt. Wenn ihr zur rechten den ersten Weiher einer Weiherkette seht, dann sind es noch knappe 3 km bis zum Ausgangspunkt.
Zuerst kommt der Scharzweiher, dann der Böllerweiher, danach der Stockweiher, der Kulmbergweiher, der Strassweiher und zuletzt der Mühlweiher. Nun sind es nur noch knappe 200 Meter.
Die Wege sind alle sehr gut zu laufen, aber da es insgesamt ca. 8 km Fußweg sind, muss man für den Rundweg alleine 1–2 Stunden einplanen (je nach Laufleistung).
Als belohnenden Abschluss sollte man sich die Landgastwirtschaft „Holzmühle“ bei N49°46.769 E011°46.544 nicht entgehen lassen, denn dort gibt es die größten Schnitzel und die besten Karpfen (Saison beachten) zu wirklich kleinem Geld, und das lokale Bier ist auch sehr süffig.
Der Cache selbst liegt neben der Ausgrabungsstätte „Bienstube“, also muss diese nicht betreten werden, was vor Ort ein Hinweisschild genauer erläutert.
This circular trail takes you through the surroundings of Haar and past the excavation site “Bienstube”, where the cache is hidden.
Parking coordinates: N49°46.893 E011°46.240. You can reach this parking lot from the country road at N49°46.939 E011°46.451. Turn off there and follow the forest track with your car. It leads to the parking area, which cannot be seen from the road.
From there, start the loop via the rightmost “steep” trail (same as the parking coordinates). Follow the path until you leave the forest and pass by the small village of “Haar” on your left. Continue on the paved road until it turns into a dirt track, and keep following it until a wide forest path appears half-right. This path leads you down into a valley. Stay on this forest track without taking any side paths until you reach N49°46.868 E011°43.913, where you’ll see the sign “Ausgrabungsstätte Bienstube”. From there you’ll have to find your own way a little, which shouldn’t be a problem.
After you’ve found the cache at N49°46.948 E011°43.925 (coordinates averaged over 100 measurements with a Garmin 60CSx), head back up again and continue on the circular route. The trail gradually curves left towards the starting point. Once you spot the first pond of a chain of ponds to your right, it’s about 3 km left to go.
The ponds in order: Scharzweiher, Böllerweiher, Stockweiher, Kulmbergweiher, Strassweiher, and finally the Mühlweiher. From there it’s just about 200 meters back to the starting point.
The trails are all easy to walk, but since the total distance is about 8 km, plan on 1–2 hours for the loop alone (depending on your pace).
As a rewarding finish, don’t miss the country inn “Holzmühle” at N49°46.769 E011°46.544. They serve the biggest schnitzels and the best carp (seasonal!) at very reasonable prices, and the local beer is highly recommended.
The cache itself is located next to the excavation site “Bienstube”, so there is no need to enter the site. A sign on location explains this in more detail.
