Plattform Löwenhaus
Die Station Löwenhaus ist eine Zwischenstation der neuen
Hungerburgbahn in Innsbruck. Der Name "Löwenhaus" stammt vom
angrenzenden Traditionswirtshaus.
Die einspurige Standseilbahn mit 2 gegenläufigen Garnituren startet
unterirdisch bei der Station Congress und kommt kurz vor der
Station Löwenhaus wieder an die Oberfläche. Über eine 242 Meter
lange Schrägseilstahlbrücke über den Inn geht die Strecke weiter,
am Ufer entlang in den Weiherburgtunnel, in dem das Ausweichstück
für die entgegenkommende Garnitur liegt. Nach dem Tunnel wird die
Station Alpenzoo angefahren bis die Bahn schließlich auf der
Hungerburg ihre Endstation hat. Sie verbindet das Stadtzentrum mit
der angrenzenden Nordkettenbahn, welche auf die Seegrube und das
Hafelekar führt.
Die neue Hungerburgbahn wurde von Zaha Hadid geplant, die auch
schon die Bergisel-Schanze entworfen hat. Die Bahn wurde 2007 in
Betrieb genommen und löste die alte Hungerburg Bahn ab, die von
1906 bis 2005 die Verbindung zur Hungerburg hergestellt hatte. Das
neue Bahnprojekt und somit auch die Einstellung der alten,
traditionsreichen Bahn war in der Bevölkerung nicht unumstritten,
wurde aber von der Stadtverwaltung ohne Kompromisse durchgeführt.
Mittlerweile hat sich die Bahn zu einem weiteren kleinen
Wahrzeichen entwickelt, das bis zu 1.200 Personen pro Stunde
befördern kann.
Der Cache
Der Cache wurde anlässlich des
Tyrolean August Event ins Leben gerufen. Der Empfang ist in der
Gegend der Station eher mässig, die Koordinaten daher eher ungenau.
Beim Container handelt es sich um eine Filmdose, bitte achtet
darauf, dass ihr beim Heben unbeobachtet seid.

Platform Löwenhaus
Platform Löwenhaus is an interstation of the new Hungerburgbahn
in Innsbruck. The name "Löwenhaus" is derived from the nearby
traditional inn.
The single-track funicular railway with two train sets in opposite
direction starts underground at platform Congress and returns to
the surface shortly before platform Löwenhaus. It continues over a
242 meter long steel cable stayed bridge across the Inn along the
shore into the Weiherburg tunnel where the turnout for the oncoming
train set is located. Platform Alpenzoo is the next station after
the tunnel, finally the railway reaches its end at platform
Hungerburg. It connects the city center with the nearby
Nordkettenbahn which leads to Seegrube and Hafelekar.
The new Hungerburgbahn was planned by Zara Hadid who had
previously designed Innsbrucks ski jumping arena. The railway was
commissioned in 2007 and replaced the old Hungerburg cable car
which had connected the Hungerburg with the city from 1906 to 2005.
The new funicular railway project - and therefore the termination
of the old and traditional railway - was a highly controversial
topic for Innsbruck's citizens but was uncompromisingly pushed
through by the city council. In the meantime the railway has become
yet another small landmark of Innsbruck which can transport up to
1.200 persons per hour.
The Cache
The cache was placed on the occcasion of the
Tyrolean August Event. GPS reception is rather bad next to the
platform, coordinates are therefore not very accurate. The
container is a film cannister, please be careful that you are not
being watched while retrieving the cache.
