Geocache Description:

FLIPPER&CO, Gayle and Mark, all the way from Aussie, would like to meet and greet as many geocachers as possible during a short stay in Dorset. This event is their opportunity, and yours, to say hello, claim a cache, exchange trackables, be sociable here a while and, maybe, linger somewhere longer over food and a little liquid refreshment, and wish them “au revoir ‘til next time” !

Gayle (now Hamilton – read on!) and Mark are from Adelaide, South Australia. In brief, since finding geocaching.com in Apr07, they released the Great Dorset Steam Fair 2008 TB in Jul07 (it arrived in Dorset in Jul08), completed a sequence of 222 consecutive days with cache finds, and were married and reached their 888th cache (hopefully on both counts) today, 08 August 2008 (08.08.08). Soon they will have travelled from Down Under to beautiful picturesque Dorset and spent a weekend at Tarrant Hinton enjoying the 2008 steam fair.

At this event they will be armed with a rare selection of TBs and coins for adventures in the northern hemisphere, to be exchanged with others seeking new horizons. You are invited to bring yours too.

RSVP, by writing a note here, hopefully send a team picture for the gallery, or just turn up and join us ………

OK, now here are the basics for claiming this cache:

# assemble at Bournemouth pier head (the given co-ordinates) on Monday 01 September 2008
# say “hello Bruce and Shiela” to Gayle and Mark
# register your geocache ID in a cache log book that will open at 1730 hours (5.30pm) and close at 1800 hours (6.00pm) BST
# log your find in the usual manner, on or before the cache closes on 10 September 2008 (the 10th of the 09th of 08)

What else?

Travel: by bus, to the Square and take a short walk through the lower gardens to the pier; by car, to off street parking between the Royal Bath Hotel and the Imax Eye-sore, or at the BIC, but all parking will cost you!
Access: the pier approach is wheelchair friendly
Wet weather: we will use the underpass for the crucial log-in window
Be safe: don’t drink and drive
