Geocache Description:

difficulty level due to muggles and need to stretch to get to it.
6/17/09 kudos to Gassafrass for replacing it with a film canister temporary one, seems original has gone missing.
3/14/2010 now round container, large enough to hold small items, moved slightly and now wheelchair accessible.

I love this spot and general area and visit it frequently. You'll find a true neighborhood community, willing to share yards, books, coffee, ideas & more. Beautifully crafted mudbenches, ovens, the square itself gets repainted with different art each year - a great example of reclaiming your neighborhood!

In 1996, neighbors in the Sellwood neighborhood of Portland at the intersection of 9th and Sherrett created a tea stand, children's playhouse and community library on the corner and renamed it "Share-It Square". Community organizers founded the City Repair Project that same year, seeking to share their vision with the community. In January 2000, the Portland City Council passed ordinance #172207, an "Intersection Repair" ordinance, allowing neighborhoods to develop public gathering places in certain street intersections.
