Site history
In what was once a little tavern situated across the street, a
restaurant known as Miller’s was started in 1939, after the
building, which dates to the late 1800’s, was moved to it’s present
location following the township being voted “dry”.
Rout 52 was a busy highway & Serena a bustling little town
boasting a gas station as well as a grocery store.
I-80 was not yet in existence as Isabell Miller ran her
“roadside” café with her husband George operating his barber shop
in the back room.
They maintained this “double” business until 1981.
