Geocache Description:

The cache container is a little larger than a small but smaller than a regular so listed as a small. It’s always better to find something a little bigger than listed than visa versa. It can hold small to medium sized trackables and should not be too difficult to find. Please use the foliage nearby to help conceal the cache concealer.

The Mineworkers Memorial is situated at Freemans Waterhole just off the Sydney/Newcastle Freeway and some would only know of it as an odd looking structure near the Shell Servo.

The memorial pays respect to the local underground miners and highlights the harsh conditions they endured in the very early years.

Unfortunately the memorial is now closed to public access and is quite run down however you can still have a look at things from behind the barriers and then go check out the cache or visa versa.

Unfortunately the memorial has been demolished. This cache is now a memorial to the Miners Memorial.

Happy caching :)
