Norra polcirkeln är en cirkel runt jorden på ca 66.6 graders nordlig bredd och utgör den sydliga gränsen för området där solen inte går ner under minst ett dygn vid sommarsolståndet. Beroende på att jordaxelns lutning inte är konstant kommer polcirkeln att röra sig i ett komplicerat dubbeloscillerande mönster norrut och söderut. I byn Juoksengi i Tornedalen nära Torneälven, där väg 99 skär polcirkeln, finns lättillgängliga informationstavlor, som beskriver denna rörelse. Det är här som denna cache ligger gömd. Alldeles i närheten har byaföreningen i Juoksengi sommartid mat- och fikaservering i Polcirkelhuset. Här finns även en webkamera riktad mot informationstavlorna så att vem som helst på Internet kan titta på cacheletarna, se www.jgitv.se, så var försiktig! På andra sidan Torneälven i Finland finns en större turistanläggning med bl a stor souvenirbutik. Den som inte vill simma ca 400 m i strömmande vatten eller inte har tillgång till båt kan utnyttja närmaste bro över till Finland, som finns knappt 3 mil söderut.
The Arctic circle is a line around the earth on about 66.6 degrees latitude and constitute the southernmost border for the area where the sun never drops below the horizon during at least one day at midsummer. Because the direction of the earth’s axis varies, the Arctic circle moves in a complicated double-oscillating pattern to north and south. At the village Juoksengi in Torneåvalley, Sweden, where road 99 crosses the Arctic circle, you can find information boards describing this movement. It is here where this cache is hidden.
Close to the cache site the village society summertime offers food and beverages at the Arctic circle house. From this house a webcamera is directed against the information boards so that anyone on Internet can look at the cachehunters (see www.jgitv.se), so be cautious!
