Geocache Description:

A quick, regular size cache for visitors to Monterey. Park your car or bike on side of the road and after enjoying a view of the bay, take a short walk in the field below the road. Ideal for picking up or dropping off TB's when you are visiting.

It is important to park on the North side of Olmsted road in the 'window' area where you can see the bay. There is about a 50 yard 'window'. We parked at N36 34.653 W121 51.226. Parking here will allow you to avoid the barbed wire fencing which is very near the cache and the poison oak. There is a nice field below the road where many locals picnic for lunch and some cool oak trees provide some great tree climbing for kids. The housing area below the field is called Fisherman's Flats/Deer Flats. This is our neighborhood and called the 'Sunbelt' of the Monterey Peninsula. We have a lot of fog with the cold waters of the Monterey Bay (over a mile deep in the canyon). This fog is so thick sometimes, you can't even see the bay from our cache even though the cache will be sitting in the sun. It is not uncommon to experience a 20 degree temperature change within 2 miles of this cache! We hope you enjoy your stay here at our Home on the Monterey Peninsula and have no difficulty locating our cache.

PLEASE hide the cache just as you found it. A number of kids from the neighborhoods below the cache play in this area. THANK YOU!
