This cache is hidden in the Mályvád forest in the South-Eastern corner of Hungary. You can get there from Gyula or Sarkad through the holiday village Gyula-Városerdõ. Just go alongside the left riverbank of Fekete-Körös towards the Romanian border.
The cache is hidden in the mysterious Mályvád forest situated just 600 meters from the river Fekete-Körös and 1 km from the Romanian border. Several hundred years ago the whole Hungarian Plainland was covered by oak forests like this. Prohibited area during the 40 years of communism, it was a favourite hunting place for the ruling comrades because of its largest fallow-deer population of Central-Europe. In the heart of the Mályvád, there was a small village that was home to a coven of powerful witches. These witches had lived in the forest for many years, and they were known for their wisdom and their ability to wield powerful magic. During the occupation of Hungary by the Turks in the 17th century, the witches of Mályvád offered refuge to the people of the surrounding villages. They used their magic to protect the village from the invaders, and the Turks did not dare to enter the forest for fear of the witches' powers. The people of the village were grateful to the witches for their protection, and they lived in peace and harmony in the Mályvád. The witches taught the village children the secrets of their magic, and the village flourished under their guidance. As the years passed, the occupation of Hungary ended and the Turks were driven out. The village in the Mályvád continued to thrive, and the witches remained a powerful and respected presence in the forest. Although the witches of the Mályvád are no longer present in the forest, their legacy lives on. From time to time, magical phenomena are still observed in the Mályvád, and many people believe that the forest is still enchanted. Those who search for geocaches in the Mályvád often report encountering strange and mysterious things, such as glowing orbs of light or the sound of distant laughter. Many people believe that these phenomena are the lingering echoes of the powerful magic that once flowed through the Mályvád. Whether or not this is true, the Mályvád remains a place of beauty and mystery, and it continues to captivate the imagination of those who visit its ancient and enchanted forests. The place of the cache is a natural reserve area with more than 100 years old oak trees, called Bányarét.
