Interpretive Trail Overlook
Brownsberg Natuurpark is a beautiful rainforest and a source of national pride for Suriname. The park is just a couple hour drive from the capital city of Paramaribo, and is an easily accessible vacation spot. Brownsberg is full of stunning vistas, waterfalls, and exotic wildlife.
This overlook is less visited than the others, but it’s one of my favorite! The interpretive trail (also called the nature education trail and the Rainforest puzzle) is a good way to get to know the park’s highlights. There are two ways to get to this cache. 1) take the trailhead at the northeast corner of camp (by the Rainforest puzzle sign). You will go down to a creek, and back up. The trail then splits. Take the right fork to go to the overlook. 2) From Reception, take the Rondwandeling trail (just to the right of the main road). When you see the red wooden block on your left, and the puzzle sign, go right. Continue straight to get to the overlook.
ATTENTION!! Please do not go off trail at Brownsberg! It ruins the habitat and disturbs wildlife. None of my Brownsberg caches require you to leave the trail.
Also, there are venomous snakes at Brownsberg—be careful when poking around, and don’t stick your hands in dark holes without looking first!

Satellite coverage at Brownsberg is sometimes problematic. Having a high-sensitivity receiver helps, but the best times to get a signal are in the morning, and late afternoon.
One last thing: I will not have regular internet access to read posts, but this cache will be regularly checked to make sure it is in working order.
