Geocache Description:

Congatulations to Dr_Dan2 for FTF#32!!!

This is a continuation of the “Courting Around” series started by ridgerunner02. The coordinates listed are not the coordinates for the geocache. The listed coordinates are for the steps of the Putnam County Courthouse located on the square. The actual cache is located within 0.5 miles of this location.

The Putnam county courthouse has a significant amount of history. There is a monument on each corner of the courthouse that gives a small history lesson. To complete this cache you must visit each monument and discover the following information.

The NE corner of the square provides history on the origin of our county name and tells us that Putnam County was “created in” A
The NW corner of the square provides history on the various courthouses and tells us that “construction of this courthouse was completed in” B
The SE corner of the square has a memorial placed by the DAR that was “placed in” C
The SW corner of the square has a memorial to Jere Whitson that was “erected in” D
