Geocache Description:

***UPDATE*** DUE TO RENOVATIONS TAKING PLACE AT THE PARK, STAGE 1 IS TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE. HOWEVER, TO KEEP THE CACHE ACTIVE, YOU ARE LUCKEY. HERE ARE THE COORDINATES TO THE FINAL STAGE: 40° 38.814 W 078° 34.631!

The Setting:
It's a grand morning around Prince Gallitzin State Park with the birds chirping and the local anglers enjoying the 1,600+ acre lake. As the morning sun rises and burns off the early dew, the once peaceful quietness is suddenly interrupted by somebody stomping around and yelling “Shhh…… I Am Trying To THINK!!!” Yes, yes, it must be one of those pesky geocachers causing a ruckus again.

As the name of this cache goes, you will find yourself saying this over and over to those around you so-called ”assisting” with the hunt. While you ponder over this cache and after finding the first stage, ask yourself theses 6 famous questions:

  • Who: Who in their right mind would have done this?
  • What: What should I take?
  • When: When should I attempt to make this find?
  • Where: Where should I go to attack this cache?
  • Why: Why I am about to do this?
  • How: How How How?

These are all very good questions. In-fact, prepare to make this a multi-day multi-stage cache. Use the first day to find stage 1 and another day to prepare and find the final stage. Not that you need 2 days, it just depends on how determined you are. To help you out, if you have not properly prepared, there will be a phone number at stage 1 you may want to make a note of. This phone number can be of assistance when you are looking for the final stage and get stuck. It will answer some of the questions. However, have a story prepared when you call as the person that answers the phone (if they answer) will not know about this cache, will not know where it is, may never even heard of geocaching, and is probably a muggler. Very puzzling isn’t it? The time frame you have to complete this cache may only be three years from when listed as it was placed with the permission of DCNR and to comply with their regulations.

You will want to start by getting a park map either online, at the park office, or at the campground office then head for the Beaver Valley Marina. From here, it will be a short walk to find the first stage, a small hide. Even the first stage of this cache may be a challenge. Once found though, you will have the final coordinates and that handy phone number you may need. There is no additional help or hints to find the final stage but I will tell you, it is on the park grounds and is about 3 miles from stage 1. When posting your log, don’t ruin any surprises for the next geocacher.

Happy hunting and remember to tell others “Shhhh… I’m trying to think”.
