You will need a boat to retrieve this cache. Please be careful to
not damage the cache when retrieving it, and please replace at the
same coordinates when done. There is a public boat launch behind
the fire station or canoe/kayak rentals are available.
This cache is very muddy. Bring rubber gloves if you don't want
to get your hands all dirty.
Silver Lake
Silver Lake covers 35 acres in Rochester. Like all lakes in
Olmsted county, Silver Lake is man made. The lake was created in
1937 when a dam was built on the Zumbro river as part of a city
park project, and for use as a cooling pond for the newly
constructed silver lake power plant.
