It's been a long summer of caching! Now it's time to slow down a bit and drink in the beautiful fall colors that Wisconsin geocaching offers.
This is planned as a Meet 'n Greet Event for the entire family that will culminate in a buffet gathering at Pizza Ranch in Fond du Lac. We have reserved a side room for eating and socializing that will be available from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
Here's your chance to put a name with a face, as well as seek caches from Oshkosh to Waupun to West Bend. You could even venture a bit farther north, and get "puzzled" in Appleton!
I'm sure there will be some new caches in the area for everyone to find. But this is meant to be a relaxing " let's enjoy the fall colors" cache day and meet some people with something in common... a love of the outdoors.
There will be a few prizes awarded at 6:30 so anyone with travel time can head out. We will post updates as they become available, including some contests associated with Autumn caching. We will also have an award winning geocache display for everyone to enjoy.
UPDATE: Fall Leaf Contest!
While caching in the fall, pick up some unique leaves!
1) Prettiest leaf 2) Largest leaf 3) Strangest leaf.
Bring them to the Event location to share. (please do not damage any natural areas in your quest for that perfect leaf!). One leaf per category, please!
WI_Robin has given 3 unactivated geocoins to be awarded as prizes in the contest. Hope that makes you look even harder!
9-15-08 UPDATE: New caches are being placed and will be published in the evening on Oct. 10th. They will be suffixed with "4F". They will be near Fond du Lac and several outlying cities for cachers to seek "on the way".
