BCHS - Coleman House Museum Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

James Bridger: MISCELLANEOUS RANT:

I boast that I own nearly a thousand geocache hides. Come to find out, it's been the other way around this whole time.

Someone painted April Fool in big black letters on a Dead End sign.

Would you rather get one shot in the head or five in the chest and bleed to death?

Held his heart in his hands, and ate of it.

You pay as you go. Sometimes all you have.

I'm going outside now. I may be gone for some time.

I am shutting down the machine. A container will remain at the following location for a while yet, until I retrieve it, so you may find it normally. If you wish, you may take the container. If you do so, please indicate such in your log. Likewise, as I recover the container, I will post that I have removed the container.

Thank you to all who "Veni. Vidi. Vici."

Geocache Description:

The cache is located outside the Coleman House Museum, which was donated to the Brown County Historical Society in 1987. The house was donated by the family of Fred Coleman, then the BCHS had the house moved here and restored. The caretaker of the museum has granted permission for the cache to be placed here.

The museum houses BCHS archives of local history. It is also the starting point for a walking tour of Ainsworth (Tour #1 - Northeast), and a pamphlet for the tour can be picked up on Main Street at the Chamber of Commerce Office. The museum is open three days a week- Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm, and Tuesdays 11:00 am to 6:00 pm.

The terrain is level, with mown grass and cement. You will be looking for a container larger than an Altoid tin, but smaller than an .30 caliber ammo can. This can be a high muggle area, so use stealth. Respect the area, CITO if needed, and rehide as you find it for the next cacher. Thanks and good luck.
