Geocache Description:

This cache is part of a 3 part series which will lead you the final cache in the series. This is a park and grab.

The first 3 caches in this series will lead you to the three main crossroads in Shorewood. I hope that you will learn something new about this village by learning a little bit of its history.

This cache is located in a parking lot that was once a farmers field. When I first moved to Shorewood, which was in 1996, Shorewood was still very much a village. I remember riding down Route 59, (I was to young to drive when I moved here) and seeing mostly corn fields all the way down to Caton Farm Rd, but as you can see that is no longer the case. The Speedway, 10 years ago had a different building there, but they tore down the old one and put up a new one. Behind the Gas City on the other corner was my middle school. My class was the last to graduate from it, and from there it became an elementry school. This intersection has become part of Shorewood's everyday life.
