Geocache Description:

A gentle walk up a forest track through forest and heather.

Drive up the single track road, either from the west end of the Carron Reservoir, or from Cambusbarron. There is parking for about 5 cars at N56°04.642 W004°01.779.

Follow the track across the moor and into the forest - the cache is about 1 mile up the track. The track climbs gently through plantation forest, with lots of heather at the side of the track. It is best to try and visit the cache in August to see the heather at its blooming best.

Usually there is lots of wildlife around this area (red grouse, roe deer, hares, and sometimes short-eared owls), however the day we placed the cache we didn't see anything - hopefully you will be luckier.

The cache is fairly close to the track and should be easy to find. The track climbs higher up the hill to some fantastic view over the Ochils and down to the Firth of Forth.
