Geocache Description:




One of a series of six caches on Inisboffin island off the Galway coast. You will need to find a number in each of the first six caches in order to calculate the coordinates of the sixth cache. Please click on "user's web page" below the cache size icon at the top of this page for more information on the island.

Local folklore tells of a "cailleach" or witch that once lived in the cottage. Not only could she provide potions and cures for the various maladies that befell the islanders, but she could also put a curses on their enemies. There are the remains of an old lime kiln on your right as you approach the cottage. The cache is a small red capsule. Bring a pen to log your visit, and initials and date only please. The "Monk's Prison" cache can be accessed further along this route.
