I grew up in this town. Since I began geocaching, I have wanted to place a cache in my hometown. This is the one, and it honors past and present friends.
When I was a teen, I had a friend whom I nicknamed Shadow, because she followed me around all the time. The two of us used to sit on a concrete wall across the creek from this cache, and read comic books. Shadow was one of the best, most loyal friends I have ever had. We're both grown now and out of touch.
Now, as an adult, I have another friend. Because she is also loyal, I've nicknamed her Shadow, as well. This cache is placed in honor of both Shadows---The past one and the present one. As you find it, stop a moment and appreciate your friends, both the ones from your past and the ones you have now. And if you have a good story about a past or current friend, tell it as you log this cache.
