A medium lock-and-lock placed just off the trail to Monte Cristo.
By now you have used a log to cross a river – this is the only reason for the terrain difficulty. Otherwise I would rate this cache itself (as in off the trail) a 2
Tree cover is fairly dense so we are including descriptions on how to find it in the write-up and providing a hint to further help.
Monte Cristo is suppose to be the best ghost town to visit in Washington state. Curious to see it ourselves, we noticed the scarcity of caches along this more than four mile route (eight miles of hiking round trip) we decided to spice up the hike by adding some more geocaches and giving back to the geocaching community.
Don't forget your daily or yearly Northwest Forestry Pass so you don't get ticketed for parking.
This cache may not be available during winter months.
To the right of the trail (heading to MC) just past a small swampy area is an interesting partially overturned stump with partially exposed root base near a living tree. In this tangled web of wood lies the geocache.
