In Plain Site (Taupo) Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

GenCuster: Nothing to see here folks. Literally. Thanks to the landowners who owned the objects of interest & who have maintained & kept an eye on the cache as the road was widened. And of course, to the cachers who have found this cache and ‘got’ the pun in the title. Note that no aeroplanes were harmed in the placing of this cache and they both have now gone onto another stage of their post-flying careers. Currently there is still a wind-sock on the property... Cheers, GC.

Geocache Description:

A LZ with a GZ! More of a fly-by than a drive-by! Is anyone curious enough to ask the owner of the nearby objects why they are there? (Don't worry, they don't bite and are now cacher's too.)

Some discretion may be required retrieving the cache, which is conveniently located outside a farm fence, from passing cyclists (slow) and motorists (fast). Please provide your own writing instrument:

Placed with an accuracy of +/- 4.5 metres with a GPSmap 76CSx

*** PLEASE REPLACE THE CACHE AS FOUND AFTER SIGNING THE LOG. THANK YOU. ***

The top wire on the inside of the fence is electrified. There is no need to reach over or inside the fence.

>>> Note that in wet conditions that the fence has been reported to have a short circuit, so all lines are potentially live.

Update: 06-Jan-2007: Cache container replaced with a waterproof model.
Update: 22-Jul-2012: Landowners replace corroded cache container with 'small' container. No longer flying by wire.
Update: 12-Oct-2012: Replaced 'small' container with 'micro' and waterproof paper. Now flying by wire again.
Update: 03-Feb-2013: Replaced 'micro' container with 'small' 1 litre sistema container. It has paper log and a bag of small swappables. Many thanks to Hello Mrs for providing this as a gate prize, many years ago, at a Christchurch event.

The cache is now technically D1/T1 but I'm leaving it as originally specified so as not to mess with cacher's stats - apart from size change from micro to small, obviously.
