The “Dryburn” used to present an unexpected obstacle to people
walking the John Muir Way between Barns Ness and Torness as on many
occasions the burn was anything but dry! On the day the cache was
placed there was at least two feet of water below the bridge.
However, the present bridge was opened earlier this year and now
allows for a dry crossing under any conditions.
This cache together with “WRECKED” (GC1FD1G) fills in the gap
between Jack Aubrey and Firth of Forth’s two caches, “LIME TRAIL”
(GCVFZN) and “LIME & URANIUM” (GCVG0V), both of which also lie
along the John Muir Way
