Geocache Description:

"Wanted, young skinny riders, wiry fellows, not over 18, must be expert riders willing to risk life daily, orphans prefered, wages 25 dollars a week." This was an add in a California newspaper in early 1860.

Friday's station in the fenced in area across the road, was a very important horse change and remount stop on the run between St. Joseph and Sacramento. The station continued to be a way station for the Pioneer Stage Lines running between Carson and the mines at Virginia City.
