This is a short 1.5 mile round trip hike to spectacular views.
Jordan Peak was named after John Jordan who, in 1850, captained a wagon train from Texas to California. Jordan settled in Yokohl Valley, west of this site and built a trail through the Sierras to Owens Valley. He drowned crossing the Kern River at Kern Flat in 1862.
This is a standard cache, the benefits are the 360 degree views.
