Geocache Description:

Saint Florian is the patron saint of Poland, Linz, Austria, chimney sweeps, brewers and most notably, firefighters.

Florian lived in the time of Roman emperors Diocletian and Maximian, and was commander of the imperial army in the Roman province of Noricum. In addition to his military duties, he was also responsible for organizing firefighting brigades. Florian is reputed to have saved Nurnberg, Germany from burning in a great fire in the 8th century. It is not clear if he used the beer or the stored water from a brewery to extinguish the fire, but according to legend, it took only one pitcher!

So, after you find this micro-sized cammoed container, crack open a cold one to honor Florian, and think of our local firefighters who are always busy (especially this year!) saving lives and homes.

Keep an eye out for the normal foothill nasties!.

Two lottery tickets for the first to find!

Happy caching!

Congrats to h2ogal and Kalikokat for co-FTFs!!!
