Short walk in the woods to a glacial keepsake...
Kurzer Waldspaziergang zu einem eiszeitlichen Andenken.

Description from wikipedia:
Kettle basins are a result of melt-water draining down crevasses to the bottom. The melt-water
joined themselves to streams and formed maelstroms at special locations. In these maelstroms there
are flow-velocities up to 200km/h and high pressures. The main erosion-work hollowing out the underlying
rock performed the sand and pebbles, which was carried along. In rare cases also single erratic blocks.
Beschreibung aus wikipedia:
Gletschertöpfe entstanden durch Schmelzwasser, das durch Gletscherspalten zum Gletscherbett
hin abfloss. Dieses Schmelzwasser vereinigte sich zu Strömen und bildete an gewissen Stellen
Wirbel. In diesen Wirbeln herrschten Fliessgeschwindigkeiten von bis zu 200km/h und hohe Drücke.
Die Haupterosionsarbeit mit Aushöhlen des Felsbettes leisteten dabei der mitgeführte Sand und die
Kiespartikel, in seltenen Fällen auch einzelne Findlinge.
