The original Stage Stops Here cache was washed away in the recent flooding, so it has been replaced with a different type of container to a safer location. This is a cache in a cache. Wheel-chair accessible up to the last couple of feet.
Four Mile Historic Park is a Denver Park which is operated by a nonprofit organization. This 12 acrea rural site is home to Denver's Oldest House, a Denver Landmark that is also listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Built in 1859, Four Mile House once served as a STAGE STOP, wayside inn, and tavern for travelers on the Cherokee Trail on their way to Denver City.
This cache is located a short walk from the parking area on the north side of the creek a few feet from the bike path. Please use caution near the bike path to avoid speeding bikers!
