Geocache Description:

First in a series of 4 around the villages of Whichford and Stourton.

Whichford is an extremely pretty village, a little outside the usual Cotswold tourist route. There is a pottery here which sells wonderful terracotta pots and also runs guided tours. The Church of St. Michael has some very interesting tombs and is definitely worth a visit. There are lovely houses around the village green. If you want to do the whole walk the instructions are below.

The Walk
A normally dry path has now got muddy in places and the nettles have grown up. Not suitable for shorts! The paths near Stourton are very indistinct and there are a number of stiles.
Park at the layby near Whichford Wood and head down the path into the wood. The path goes down through the wood and then out along the field boundary and re-enters the wood at N52. 00.315 W001. 32.970. A stile leads out to footpath down hill to Whichford. Turn left and walk through Churchyard and down hill along green path and left at road and then right at footpath sign. This path takes you through Long Cliff Coppice to stream crossing. Cross over and follow path to footbridge. Now head left and up bank to where the path passes through cultivated fields. When the driveway to Lanes End Farm is reached, turn left and walk to road. Straight across road and follow path up Stourton Hill towards houses at the top. A gate leads across field to right of house. At road turn left and then almost immediately right just before the next house. Carry along field boundary where the path is now very overgrown, and by an obvious diagonal path leading into Stourton, turn left. The track now zig-zags around, heading for the converted barn at Magrett's Hill. Walk down farm track to road and turn right to car.
