The other side ???
Before the Royston Bypass (A505) was built 25 years or so ago this was probably a pleasant public footpath walk from Royston to Bassingbourn through farmland.
Then they built the bypass but gave no thought to the footpath - no subway or footbridge. Just to the West is a concrete bridge for the farmer to move his farm machinery from one side of the A505 to the other, but the poor walkers have to take their life in their hands and cross two dual carriageways to get to the other side. They cannot even use the farmers bridge... CRAZY !!
The Cache
Please replace carefully in exactly the same position so the container is out of sight as you are in view of passing traffic on the road. The cache is a small camouflaged container (slightly smaller than a 35mm micro) and contains a log sheet and pencil.
This is a very busy road so I do not recommend it for children and keep dogs on a lead (or even the children!). Due to the grassy terrain it is also not suitable for wheelchairs. If you are travelling East along the A505 or through Royston, park at the recommended parking. If you are travelling West along the A505 there is a lay by a couple of hundred yards past the cachesite and a wide verge to walk back along.
